The official name of this event is かほく四季まつり：かにカニ合戦 (Kahoku Seasonal Festival: Second Crab Battle), which is far more interesting than a mere “Crab Festival.”
Like most of Japan’s food-related festivals, this is an open-air festival featuring a number of crab-based dishes for you to purchase. There’s something fun about eating hot food outside on a chilly autumn day, so stop by and enjoy some of Ishikawa’s best crabs (kani, かに） of the season!
