Kanazawa Fire Department’s New Year’s Parade 金沢市消防出初式

Come see the Kanazawa Fire Department’s annual New Year’s Parade! The highlight of the parade is “Kaga Tobi,” ladder-top acrobatics. This tradition dates back to 1659 (Manji 2) and shows off the firefighter’s physical prowess.

Access
Take the bus bound for “Kenrokuen shita” (兼六園下) from Kanazawa Station (East Gate bus-boarding area #3; West Gate bus-boarding area #4); get off at Kenrokuen-shita and walk for 2 minutes to Kanazawa Castle.
