Fergal here. Come learn about the past by looking at nostalgic photos of Kanazawa.
Kanazawa station is readily accessible by JETs based in and around Kanazawa city, and as such makes a convenient location. It is also relatively accessible by many Ishikawa JETs in general, although less so.
The event is running from the 7th of January 2009 to the 20th of February 2009, so there is plenty of time to visit this exhibition.
Admission is free, which is always a good thing.
The exhibition is in the Motenashi-Dome B1 (East Exit of JR Kanazawa Station). It’s underneath the area in front of the station, so take the escalator down a floor!
There are 5 exhibits
1. Kanazawa a History in Photographs
2. Hand Drawn Maps
3. Kanazawa in Postcards
4. Scenery that defines Kanazawa
5. Photographs of the Past
The exhibition is currently open.
This looks as though this will be a good event for many people. Be they lovers of Photography, History, Culture, Kanazawa, Postcards or just hanging around the station with some free time. If you are in the area it might be worth your while to give this a shot.
